Miscellaneous Application Settings

Introduction

Here are some of my miscellaneous program settings. See also: Programs, Operating Systems, Software.

Meteorologist (OS X 10.7)

Comment: To always see the menubar icon only after login in, try copying the program icon from Launchpad/Applications to Dock and then right-click the new icon, Options, Open at Login. See also settings for this program: Updating tab: (*) Both, Apply. Restart computer and select Updating tab: (*) Menubar, Apply. Restart computer one more time.

Comment: See also OS X Lion, System Preferences, Users & Groups, Current User, Login Items, Meteorologist.

Comment: In OS X Lion, when shutting down the computer, use the "Reopen windows when logging back in" setting to see the menubar icon next time.

Texas Instruments: TI-Nspire CAS Student Software 3 (OS X 10.8)

Comments: software for calculator TI-Nspire CX CAS.

Update instructions: (1) Download the zip file with the Student Software. You can also download the zip file with a web browser from the ti.com website. (2) Open the zip file with Archive Utility (you can also open it for example with WinZip if you have it installed). (3) Extract the pkg file to your hard drive. (4) Double-click the pkg file and follow the instructions. (5) If you downloaded the zip file using a web browser you may see this kind of notification: ""TI-Nspire CAS Student Software-3.2.0.1219.pkg" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." so go to System Preferences, Security, General and change the settings.

Update zip file example name: TI-Nspire_CAS_Student_Software-3.2.0.1219.zip.

Update pkg file example name: TI-Nspire CAS Student Software-3.2.0.1219.pkg.
