Time Capsules

Artist's Statement:

The assignment was to draw three direct observations: a still life, a self portrait, and something that utilizes perspective. For my still life I chose a pencil sharpener, and I chose to draw the cabinets and counter because I think its fun to draw clutter.

I chose to do pen directly on paper, because I wanted to see if I could capture form without erasing, and also because pen made for complex, scribbly shadows, which I like. 

all of these pieces were done by direct observation of a three dimensional object.
