Multiple Lidded Pinch Pots

Deep Firebrick + Saturation Gold

Deep Olive Speckle + Saturation Gold

I used PC 29 (deep olive speckle) on my smaller pot, and PC 59 (deep firebrick) on my larger pot, and then PC 2 on both around the rim.

Artist's Statements:

This project used the pinch Technique, which mean that we used our fingers to pinch 2 pots. The requirements for the pots were that they be both lidded, and that at least one of them had to have a foot. Additionally, it was required that we incorporate a sense of unity between both pots. This could be anything from motifs to having them be part of a story.

My process was to start small, and go from there. I ended really liking my first one, so I did something very similar for the second one too. for the second pot, I added handles, too, that matched the lid of the first pot, so I ended up switching them out.

I really liked how these turned out. I think that the glaze work that I did really added to the sense of unity. One thing I would maybe change however is the patchylooking glaze coverage. I wanted a more even look, but some of the glaze ended up breaking a bit, showing lighter patches.
