Time

Artist's Statement:

The purpose of this project was to document the passing of time. I wanted to do something over a lot of time, so I chose to document the view outside my window every morning at 7:10 AM. I wanted to include everything that changed. The snow, the lighting, the time the sun rose, the car passing by, the phase of the moon visible that one time.

I chose to edit it in photoshop to show the progression of time. I wanted to be able to include the detials such as the moon and the car, so I was careful to be able to line it up so those were visible. I had some trouble with spacing for some of them, but I think it turned out pretty cool. in the vertical one especially, your can tell the passing of winter into spring. The grass turned a lot greener.

Some idea that I decided not to use for this project were to photograph moss growing, but I chose not to do this because it is pretty stagnant, while the outdoors has a million things that are all changing at once. One thing that I might have done differently would have been to do an edit with curves, but it was hard to get a clean line, so I decided to just use straight edges.
