Arrive Alive

Artist's Statement:

This project is about how someones life can be shattered in a moment. Distracted driving is a huge problem, and I don't people realize that in the time it takes to look down at your phone, an accident can happen. I wanted to represent this by showing a shattered phone screen, with emergency lights being reflected in it along with a crumpled car, and a rouge tire track.

My idea was that these kind of accidents can shatter someone's life, just like the phone screen. I tried to make it so that the shattered feel was kept in the images, breaking them up and shifting them slightly so that it jumps over cracks. I used the spray paint brushes, because I associate those with roads, and paint on the street.

I tried to make the size the same as a phone screen, so it would look like the poster itself was a phone. I think that is important to remember that you don't even need to be typing to be distracted. Reading a text is also a distraction, and can be fatal. It is our responsibility as drivers to always make sure we are focus entirely on driving. This saves lives.
