Artist's Statement:

the idea of this came from looking at wild carrot flowers and thinking they looked like wedding dresses. I intended this piece to be a gift for my cousin's wedding, so I thought I would paint wild carrot flowers, and also some insects to represent prosperity.
I used watercolor and pen to create a airy feel to the painting.
At first I thought I would do just a monarch and a locust, but then I decided to add also a cricket, a honey bee, a dragonfly, a mayfly and a ladybug.
