Artist's Statement:
The project was to take 17 photos of the different photographic compositions. We also had to edit them, and how we edited them. I ended up with some photos that I took over several days, at different locations.
The compositional rules and techniques that I used were all 17 ones listed. However in each photo I did try to combine some other techniques to make it a more interesting photo. This means that I had a result that I was more happy with.
I chose to photograph mostly landscapes, and some other subejects, and didn't photograph a lot of people. I chose to take photos that I thought at the moment looked interesting, which ended up having some photos where it takes a moment to understand what is being photographed. I chose to do this because I wanted the photos to come from the moment, and not be preplanned.
Some of my favorite parts were the spontaneity of it. I would suddenly see a scene that I liked and take the photo out of the car window, or I would photograph my cats, who are never predictable. I did struggle a little bit with time management, which is something I wish to do differently in the future, and wish I had done differently for this assignment.
