Artist's Statement:
During class, we had made several blind contour drawings: one of ourself, one of the person sitting next to us, and one of our non-dominant hand. the assignment was to expand on these three drawings until we had a finished product.
I used sharpie pen on paper, using its fine tip to give this piece a general chaotic scribble effect.
Throughout the day, I went around making blind contours of people, occasionally adding a plague mask when I didn't like how they turned out. Then when I got home I filled in the surroundings, and accentuated certain lines to emphasize the eyes, and hands.
I named this piece "lack of lucidity" because it felt like a nightmare someone would have, where they were entirely out of control and lacked the ability to manage their surroundings, just like I couldn't actually see what I had made until after I made it.
