Reflection:

I feel like my experience in this photography has definitely been successful, and that I accomplished my goals for this class. I learned more about composition, and photography in general. I also learned the process of developing film, which I think is very interesting and a bit like magic.

I think the most difficult thing for me in the class was keeping on top of the assignment, because I would also want to finish one assignment fully before starting the other, which meant that sometime I would be a fair bit late. I think that despite this however, I was able to turn in my best quality of work and sometimes work ahead of time, so that I could take more time with assignment that I tought were important.

One of my favorite projects this semester was the selective color project, because I really liked the way a single color standing out changes the tone of the photo entirely. I also really liked how deceptively simple it was, and think that I might be interested in trying to replicate it with film, I know that your can add color to film by using a tiny paintbrush to add color.

I really did not like the kaleidoscope project, mostly becaus I felt that I had very little control over the outcome of the process. I felt like a following a series of steps that would turned out a result and that I had minimal choices to make in the product.

My understanding of photography has really improved with how much I learned about composition and how the artist might by trying to catch your eye and guide it. I have really learned to appreciate the work that these artist put into taking a certain shot, and how much thinking goes into it. I feel like after taking this class, every time I look at photographs, I will think about how it was made as well as what I am seeing.
