Note: Abraham Womack III came from Cumberland Co, VA (the part which became modern Powhatan Co in 1777) after selling his land in 1767.
Halifax Co, VA DB 7:267. 1 Nov 1768, Daniel Hutson [Hudson] of Charlotte Co & parish to Abraham Wamock of Halifax Co, for 350#, land in Halifax, 480 acres, Beavers Creek, joining John Williams, William McGinnis, William Hunt. Signed Daniel Hudson (his + mark). Witnesses Walter Robertson, Thomas Boaz, Saml Calland. 1 Nov 1768, Abraham Wamock took possession, same witnesses. Halifax county 17 Nov 1768, deed acknowledged by Daniel Hudson, his wife Tabitha relinquished dower, R Munford clerk.
Halifax Co, VA DB 9:250. 2 Nov 1773, Abraham Womack of Halifax Co to Walter Robertson of Halifax Co, Womack acknowledges he is indebted to Robertson, to pay his debt and for 5 shillings, “one Negroe fellow named Jim” now in possession of John Rickman. Halifax Co, VA DB 14:616. 25 Nov 1789. I, Abraham Wamack of Halifax co, for 26#, have sold and delivered to William Naish of Mecklenburg Co, one Negro girl named Annina and her increase. If, however, sd Womacks pays sd Naish 26# & interest within 6 months, then said Naish is to deliver to sd Womack sd Negro girl. Signed Abram Womack. Witnesses Coleman Williams, James Willis.
