Branch S Womack (Jan 1856 - aft 1900 FC) - see 1900 FC Smith Co, TX
NOTE 1: Anthony Hundley Womack was named as the grandson of Thomas Womack in Thomas's will. There were several men named Anthony Hundley in Virginia at the time, and an Ann Hundley was listed right before Thomas Womack in the 1785 VA Census of Amelia Co. In the tax lists of Amelia and Nottoway Cos, VA, there were no male Womacks listed near Thomas Womack who could have been Thomas's son and Anthony's father. It is a good possibility that Anthony was born out of wedlock to a daughter of Thomas. Anthony was under 21 when his Thomas died in 1804, so Anthony was born after 1783. However, Anthony married Prudence Branch in 1805, so he was probably at least 18 then.
NOTE 2: Martha Womack Hurt was almost certainly the grandmother of Anthony Womack Hert, though some Hurt/Hert researchers assert she was his great-aunt. It is also very likely she was the mother of Anthony Hundley Womack out of wedlock (probably by a Hundley man) prior to her first marriage to John Forrest in 1787; hence the name Anthony Womack ran in her family. Also, doubtful she went by "Polly" given that the usual nickname for Martha is Patsey. She was listed as Martha when she and her husband James Hurt sold land in Allen Co, KY.
NOTE 3: Branch Womack was likely named after his mother's maiden name. See 1850 FC Tishomingo Co, MS. His widow, Lucinda married James W Moore, and they moved to Hardin Co, TN by 1860, with children C B and S B Wamack. S B was probably the "J Sam Womack" (living with a Wheelock family) in Monroe co, AR in 1870; the S B Womack in Monroe Co, AR in 1880, and who married Sue Cale Marston there in 1882. He was Branch S Womack in 1900 FC of Smith Co, TX.
