Brittain Womack

Married multiple times, the last time Lucy Williford in 1816 (bond dated 21 Aug 1816) by whom he had child Brittain Womack "the Younger" (who died as a child).

Called Albridgton in some records, though descendants named after him only used Brittain, Britton, etc.

Chatham Co, NC Minutes, Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, 1816-1822, p.54 (LDS Film # 008189498, image 391/593) - Tuesday May Sessions 1817 [May Session started second Monday of May 1817, which was 12 May 1817, using a perpetual calendar.  So, this record was on 13 May 1817.]  Administration of all and Singular Goods and Chattels rights and Credits of Brittain Womack dec'd is granted Willie Womack [looks like "William" changed to "Willie"] who entered into Bond in the Sum of One thousand Pounds with Thomas Barham and Brittain Womack his securities and was qualified.  Ordered that Willie Womack Administrator of Brittain Womack dec'd have leave to sell the perishable estate of said deceased.

Chatham Co, NC DB B:165 (LDS Film # 007526360, image 328/816) - James Booker & Pheby his wife of Chatham Co, NC for 500 pounds to Albridgton Wommack of same county, tract of land in the counties of Chatham and Wake, 300 acres MOL on both sides of Buck Horn Creek, beginning at Robert Jones corner white oak running south along Jones and Leavens line cross the creek to a white oak on the west of Little Creek 46 chains to a white oak sapling then north cross Buck Horn 65 chains to a post then East 46.5 chains to the first station.  Signed 11 May 1779, James (his B mark) Booker, Pheby (her + mark) Booker.  Wit:  John Wommack, Valentine (his V mark) Baswell [sic].  May Court 1779, proved by Valentine Braswell.
