    • Isham Womack (listed as 16-21 with Isham in 1787 tax list, only known record)

Note: there was another Isham Womack on personal property tax lists from 1784-1794. This Isham was sometimes designated as Jr, and is distinct from the Isham living with Isham Sr in 1787. The Isham Jr was probably not the son of Isham Sr, but the Isham living with Isham Sr in 1787 likely was his son. Nothing further known about the Isham Jr.

Note: a "Frederick" Womack living with Isham in 1789 was likely a mistake for Shadrack, since Shadrack is listed with Isham in years 1788, 1790, and 1791. The Frederick Womack/Waymack from PG who was born circa 1799 and who was in Conway Co, AR in 1850 appears too young to be the son of Isham, at least if Isham's wife Phoebe was also the mother of Shadrack, born circa 1772.

Frederick Womack/Waymack family

Frederick Womack/Waymack married 1) Joanna Nancy Livesay (married 14 Mar 1823, PG); 2) Eliza Palmer (married 15 Feb 1834, Gallia Co, OH).

Peyton Alfriend Womack family

Peyton Alfriend Womack (1797 PG land tax list, Sgt in War of 1812, died circa 1818). In the 1840 chancery cases involving the estate of Winnifred Womack (died 1821 in PG), the complainants in the case were Travis H Wammack, Wilmouth Wammack, Reuben Tinney & Luraney his wife formerly Wammack, James Wammack [crossed out] and Peyton Wammack.

Land belonging to Peyton A Womack appears to have been inherited by Peyton Womack, James T Womack, and Wimouth Womack.

LDS Film # 008151752, Surveyors Book, p.14 (image 35/355). Land divided between Peyton Wamack and John P Wamack, 132.25 acres each, 1796. Peyton Wamack's share divided 4 ways in 1819 (?) to Peyton Womack Jr, Willmouth Womack, "Tinney & wife" and "John Titmarsh & wife dower". John P Womack apparently sold his share to Edward Marks, who has 132.25 acres in the 1797 land tax list (LDS Film # 008140700, image 180/869).

Peyton Alfriend Womack may have been born out of wedlock to a Womack female and an Alfriend male, since some researchers list him and his children with the Alfriend surname. From the death record of son Peyton, his wife's name was Mary LNU.

One possibility is that Winnifred Womack was Peyton's mother and had him out of wedlock with an Alfriend man. She also appears to have been the mother of Williamson Williams Womack, who she had out of wedlock with a Williams man. From tax records Williamson Williams Womack inherited land from Winnifred, and then that land appears to have been later inherited by Travis H Womack, probable son of Williamson, after Williamson died. Travis H Womack later changed his surname to Williams, just as Peyton's son Peyton changed his surname to Alfriend. From the 1840 Chancery case, it appears Winnifred left personal property to her grandchildren, the children of Williamson and Peyton.

Possible Children:

    • Peyton Alfriend Womack (PG land tax lists 1822-1835) - apparently changed his surname to Alfriend, and listed with sister Wilmouth Tinney in 1850 and 1880 census of Petersburg, VA (listed as Wimouth's brother in 1880). See Find-A-Grave.

    • James T Womack/Alfriend (c1815-1896, PG land tax lists 1822-1836)

    • Wilmouth Womack (born circa 1810, PG land tax lists 1822-1838) married James Tinney (m. 1839). See Find-A-Grave.

  • Luraney Womack married Reuben Tinney (Luraney born circa 1804, listed in the 1850 and 1860 censuses of PG).

James T Alfriend on 1850 FC of Madison Co, AL; married Eleanor J Robinson/Robertson 6 May 1851 in Madison Co, AL; they are on the 1870 FC of Simpson Co, KY with son Thomas; Jas T Alfiend, tailor, died aged 81 on 16 Apr 1896 in Richmond, VA (VA death records); the SSN app of son Thomas Peyton Alfriend lists parents James T Alfriend and Eleanor J Robertson.

Williamson Williams Womack family

Williamson Williams Womack married Sarah "Sally" Hackney, niece of Rev War veteran William Hackney.

Their only known child was Travis H Womack, who changed his surname to Williams.

Travis H Williams, alias Wamack

Apparently changed his surname to Williams. In his 1861 will in Prince George, he names himself as Travis H Williams, alias Wamack; this will lists wife Rosena, but does not explicitly name children [CITE]. List as Travis Williams, age 38, in the 1850 Census of PG. Appears in PG tax lists as both Womack/Wamack and Williams. Married 18 Feb 1835 [CITE] Rosena Womack, daughter of Joseph Womack per his 1846 PG will. The Virginia rejected Rev War pension application of William Hackney (http://revwarapps.org/VAS1355.pdf) shows that Travis was an heir of William Hackney through his mother, Sally Hackney Womack, and that Joseph Womack was also an heir through his wife, not named [CITE].

In Virginia Chancery Case “Prince George County, 1840-002, Travis H Wammack vs Exr of Winnifred Wammack”, (http://www.lva.virginia.gov/chancery/full_case_detail.asp?CFN=149-1840-002#img), the 1821 will of Winnifred Wammack is mentioned, but unfortunately the case file does not have a copy of the will. The complainants in the case were Travis H Wammack, Wilmouth Wammack, Reuben Tinney & Luraney his wife formerly Wammack, James Wammack [crossed out] and Peyton Wammack. The complainants were to receive the slaves of Winnifred not otherwise bequeathed in her will. They were suing her executor, Francis Epes. Francis Epes was identified as the executor of Winnifred Wammack and James Wammack [James’s name inserted later]. Ordered that a commission of John A Peterson, William Fuqua, Abraham Wammack and Thomas H Daniel to sell the slaves and distribute the proceeds to heirs in 5 equal parts to the five complainants. The fact that James Wammack’s name was crossed out in the initial list, and his name was inserted along with Winnifred ’s as one of the estates Francis Epes was handling, hints at the possibility that James died during the proceedings. The bill of complaint was filed in March 1836 court, and the case dismissed in June 1840 court. None of the other complainants were listed as an heir of William Hackney, which makes it appear they were not siblings of Travis. They were likely all great-nephews and great-nieces of Winnifred (or else her grandchildren, see Peyton Alfriend Womack family above), who from PG tax lists, appears to have never married. The other complainants were likely the cousins of Travis.

In Virginia Chancery Case “PETERSBURG CITY, 1897-005, J E Moore vs RR Rainey”, (http://www.lva.virginia.gov/chancery/full_case_detail.asp?CFN=730-1897-005#img) there are some details on the family.

    • Img 20: Travis died about 1 Sep 1861, Rosena died in 1864.

    • Img 26-29: Copy of will of Travis H Williams, alias Wamack.
