William Womack

William Womack of Greensville County, Virginia (1723 - 1802)

Married (1) Julianna LNU (previously married to Richard Sykes and Francis Harris); (2) Anne Harris (previously married to Michael Curtis and John Fennel).

Children:

    • Mary Womack married Presley Britt

William Womack lived a long time in the area of Brunswick Co, VA and later Greensville Co, VA, which was formed 1780 from Brunswick. He was apparently the son of William Womack Sr whose will was probated 1778 in Halifax Co, VA, but he (William Jr) was not mentioned in the will. This William Womack is interesting for a few reasons. He was married twice, and each of his wives had previously been married twice. He appears to have had only one child, but a large number of step children. He also has some of the earliest records of Womacks in North Carolina, where he bought and sold land, though it appears he never lived in NC.
