The Descendants of Thomas and Louvisa Rice Womack, by Oscar Black Womack, 1970 edition. p.15:
10. SARAH (Sallie) WOMACK, b. 8/10/1782; d. 1/29/1858, buried in Ellensboro, Rutherford Co., NC; m. 2/22/1798 to Jeremiah Blanton, son of Robin Blanton; Jeremiah b. 12/7/1774, d. 12/24/1872, also b, in Rutherford Co,, NC. This information was obtained from Irene Blanton Smith, who has Jeremiah Blanton’s Bible, Ann Benton, Marietta, GA, and cemetery inscription Oak Grove Cemetery, Ellensboro, NC, 1968. Compiled by Mrs Mary Blanton Maudlin, 605 Rosene, Ft Worth, Texas 70111.
NOTE: This Bible does not list Jeremiah's father. There is a "myth" that it does list his father as Robin, based upon info in the book The Descendants of Thomas and Louvisa Rice Womack; however the entry on Sarah Womack, wife of Jeremiah Blanton, says that Jeremiah was the son of Robin Blanton, based on the research of Blanton researchers, one of whom owned the Bible. This research was done before the discovery of the Christenberry Lee account, and Womack and Blanton DNA tests, proved that Jeremiah was the son of Archer Womack. Robin was likely a misreading of Reuben Blanton, who appears in early records of Rutherford Co, NC. The early Blanton researchers incorrectly attributed Reuben/Robin as the father of Jeremiah Blanton.
