Wolfpack shooters sweep Delta Junction

FAIRBANKS — The West Valley Wolfpack scored a high school rifle sweep against the Delta Junction Huskies on Saturday morning at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Patty Center rifle range.

West Valley earned a 2,122-1,972 win in the air rifle event and posted a 2,003-1,674 win in the smallbore event.

Both teams had a number of shooters post personal best scores.

Nicole Plummer led the Wolfpack in both disciplines, shooting a 563 in air rifle and a personal best 536 in smallbore.

Plummer’s teammates in air rifle were Matthew East with a personal best 532, Phillip Wilson with a person best 523 and Connor Soden with a 504.

Delta Junction’s Dillon Tatro posted a personal best 517 to lead the Huskies. Rachael Hannen notched a 513, Alex Matthews registered a 481 and Patrick Newman had a personal best 461.

In addition to Plummer, Wet Valley got personal bests of 506 and 501 from East and Soden in the smallbore competition. Wilson rounded out the t team with a 460.

Matthews led the Huskies with a personal best 517. Tatro had a personal best 498, with Angus Pospisil registering a personal best 353 and Kael Knight netting a 306.

West Valley and Lathrop are scheduled to compete Saturday at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Range.

Also on Saturday, the North Pole Patriots will shoot at Delta Junction.
