Malemutes on target against North Pole

FAIRBANKS — Liam Eberhart, Patrick Casey and JT Schnering each set personal bests in smallbore as the Lathrop Malemutes outshot the North Pole Patriots at the Tanana Valley Sportsmen’s Association.

Eberhart shot 557, Casey 555 and Scherning 554 to lead the Malemutes to a 2,214 score in smallbore. Kasey Barnes was the other Malemute to shoot smallbore, picking up a 548.

The Patriots shot 1,868 in smallbore.

The Malemutes took air rifle 2,231-2,091.

Zachary Andrews led the Patriots smallbore effort, shooting a 481. Mitch Durrant followed with a 570. Taylor Armstrong added a 468 and Caleb Simmons shot 449.

Barnes led all shooters with a 570 in air rifle, followed by Eberhart at 559. Casey shot 552 and Schnering added a 550.

Durrant and Andrews tied for the Patriots air rifle lead at 528. Armstrong shot a personal best 524 and Simmons added a 511.
