ARC Hosting 3 Days Of Matches This Coming Week

Post date: Jun 9, 2011 6:16:48 AM

The Alaska Rifle Club will host three days of matches this coming Friday June 10, Saturday June 11, and Sunday June 12 at Ft. Richardson 's Pedneau Range . Each match stands alone, so you can go to all three or any of your choosing. Sign up time will be 7AM -- 7:45AM each day. Everyone is required to sign up in the parking lot adjacent to Pedneau Range . I have attached the Match Program. I have also attached an Hold Harmless form that the Army is requiring everyone to sign. Please print one for yourself and bring it. You only have to sign it once for the year and the club keeps them.

Friday's match is a Mid-Range Prone Regional. There will be 60 shots for record with 2 sighters . Match fee is $30.00. There will be 20 shots for record at 300, 500, and 600 yards all slow fire prone. For the mid-range prone category you must shoot off a sling but you can use a scope or "Any Sights". F class & F-TR use bipods.

On Saturday the High Power Rifle Regional Championship will be held. Match fee is $30.00. This is an 80 round High Power Match with 2 sighters in each position. Match rifles or service rifles are legal for this match. The NRA will be awarding medals for High Marksman and High Sharpshooter in addition to First, Second and Third overall.

On Sunday we will hold a CMP leg match which is a 50 round match with a service rifle and no sighters. Sign up time is the same and match fee is $20.00. The leg match will be limited to service rifles only and trigger weights will be checked. The CMP requires a notarized Affidavit from each competitor. If you have turned in a CMP Affidavit at any CMP match after October 2007 you do not have to complete a new Affidavit.

The Army has tightened the rules on bringing firearms onto the base. Because Pedneau is not on the main base, we do not have to worry about them. If you go through the main gate you must register all firearms.

The Army range control has taken a firm stand on range rules. There will be no personal vehicles other than the emergency designated vehicle on the Range. So, either you have to carry your equipment or put it in the emergency vehicle.

Hope to see you there!
