Long time Tanana Valley Sportsmen's Association member Bud Burris fires the inaugural shot in the recently completed small bore rifle and handgun range Saturday, March 16, 2013. The association's club house burned March 31, 2007. Contractors framed the new building and completed the wiring and plumbing.Volunteers have completed the rest of the work.

Burris used a bolt action 22 rifle from the club's gun locker that had not been fired since the club's log building was destroyed by fire. Burris questioned the accuracy of the rifle before taking his shot. He called it outside the bullseye low and to the left soon after pulling the trigger marking another milestone in the rebuilding of the clubhouse.
