First off we'd like to thank Karl Short (from Kodiak) and Chuck Patrick (retired and traveling to rifle matches) for coming out today joining us for some summertime fun!
The slight overcast conditions made for comfortable shooting. Congrats to Scott Colledge for taking top honors in HP and Doug Albright taking top honors in the Vintage Match.
Today was our first ever Modified Mid Range Prone match. We used an 100yd reduced MR-31 target at 200 yards with the option for sights (scope or iron). A 6" black circle at 200 yards is small. Using a scope wasn't too bad, that small target seemed to bounce around a lot. And then there was the iron sight portion...TOUGH!!! After some discussion about the targets, most likely we'll use something a bit bigger next time. Not that we'll shoot a perfect score but it would be nice to have a visible sight picture.
