Hutchison rifle on target against North Pole

FAIRBANKS— Amy Gentry shot match-highs in air rifle and smallbore to lead the Hutchison Hawks past North Pole in both events on Saturday at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

The Hawks shot a 2,239 in air rifle and a 2,096 in smallbore. The Patriots fired a 2,098 in air rifle and a 1,895 in smallbore.

Gentry fired a 573 in air rifle for the Hawks, who had all four shooters record a higher score than the Patriots’ top shooter. Gentry also shot a 568 in smallbore.

Andrew Accola led the Patriots with a personal bests in air rifle (543) and smallbore (498).

Jennifer Merrion was second on the Hawks with a personal best 565 in air rifle, followed by Mason Falkner at 555. Charlie McNeil rounded out the Hawks air rifle score with a 546.

Mitch Durrant followed Accola with a 530 in air rifle. Caleb Simmons fired a 519 and Agustin Pineda shot a 506 to round out the Patriots air rifle score.

Durrant’s and Pineda’s scores were both personal best.

Following Gentry in smallbore was McNeil, who fired a 522 for the Hawks. Falkner shot a 5004 and Merrion added a 502.

Durrant fired a 495 in smallbore to finish second on the Patriots. Amber Reynolds shot a personal best 446 while Simmons fired a 456.
