Hutch outshoots North Pole

FAIRBANKS — Led by another strong showing from Amy Gentry and Gabe Stutz, the Hutchison Hawks shot their way past North Pole Saturday at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

The Hawks outshot the Patriots 2,252-2,106 in air rifle and 2,156-1,883 in smallbore.

Gentry led all shooters with a 573 in air rifle, followed by Stutz at 569. Emma Daniels set a personal best for the Hawks, shooting 556, and Garret Snyder added a 554.

In smallbore, Gentry again led all shooters, this time shooting a personal-best 556. Stutz followed with a 540, while Daniels added a 536. Snyder shot 524.

The Patriots were led by Zachary Andrews. He shot personal bests in air rifle (541) and smallbore (511). Following Andrews in air rifle was Andrew Accola, who shot a 529, a personal best. Mitch Durrant shot 523 and Caleb Simmons shot 513.

Durrant shot a personal-best 489 in smallbore. Taylor Armstrong also shot a personal best for the Patriots in smallbore. She shot 467. Noah Scheff added a 416.
