In preparation for you starting the LXX Design & Technology Course we would like you to present a range of Design Ideas for a Table Lamp that has a hardwood Timber and Resin Poured base, a 'neck' that will be 3D printed and pushes / slots into the base (the wire to power the LED's must run along / inside or be a feature of the neck), a 'head' at the top of the lamp that protrudes out from the 'neck' allowing the wire to pass through (there could be a switch on this part), which leads to a hanging lantern which could be made from a Tube of clear acryclic with your design of decorative slotting acrylic pieces hanging off it / around it etc. (see images below). Inside either the 'head' or the hanging lantern there will be some form of LED light.
You can present your design ideas in any way i.e. on A3 paper, on an iPad using procreate, using Onshape, Sketching over an Onshape model, Making a model etc. etc. It is up to you what you present and how much you present.
This is a quick design idea to try and communicate to you the basic idea. This idea has a Poured Resin and Timber base; a Neck with holes in and a hole for the wire to pass through; a switch on the 'head' a lantern and decorative pieces.
The images below have all been created using AI so many of them are not correct but could be used as a starting point for inspiration.Â
