• 2D Basic shapes

The 2D Basic Shapes & Rendering sheet combines 2D shapes, using centre lines for symmetry, with marker pen applied to convey shadows and 3D form. To see the shapes in 3D, scan in the QR code or see the 3D example below.

Marker Rendering the Basic Shapes PTII

Extension task: When you have completed this sheet use the all of the basic techniques to sketch a range of your own combined 2D shapes that represent 3D products. Sketch out an iPhone 14 (front and back) using all of the blue pencil framework techniques, then adding fine len pen and eventually grey marker. What else could you sketch in a similar way? How about an iMac? What about a cold drink container / flask (hydroflask) etc. What about sketching the new Apple Watch 8 Ultra?
