Inktober House Competition

Anyone can do the Inktober house competition

Just pick up a black pen and start sketching!

The Inktober competition follows the prompts that have been released for the official Inktober 2022 event.

You can find out more about the official event here.

This is how it will work as a house competition - you will get 1 point for your house for every piece you enter and a Credit for every 5 points.

If you have a go at all 31of the prompts (to an acceptable standard) then you will be awarded 10 credits as a reward!

How it works:

  1. Sketch in black ink on white paper in response to the prompts

Use a fine line pen or any other black ink pen to sketch. You can do a pencil 'under-drawing' if you want. There is a new prompt to inspire you for every day in October. It is a good idea to do your work small and the same size every day. A 10cm x 10cm square would work well for every day.

2. Hand it in to the correct prompt assignment on the Google Classroom

Make sure you join the correct Google Classroom for your house or school.

3. Repeat for all of the 31 prompts throughout October

You get 1 point for your house for every prompt that you complete a drawing for. You can get double points if you complete all 31!

In the Senior School, Credits will be awarded for entries of merit.

Tips for sucess:

  1. Research each 'prompt word' before you start sketching so that you fully understand the word and to gather ideas, but do not copy!

  2. To help make your work good, focus on adding detail using a range of pen thickness but stick to Black Ink only (some of you may add grey for shadow detail).

  3. Make your work a uniform size (the same size paper each time) and keep it to a small scale. Squares 10cm x 10cm work well.
