Early Concept ideas

Early Concepts / Doodles / Thumbnail sketches should be very quick, unrefined sketches of your ideas that could match the design problem you are trying to solve. They focus mainly on shapes and forms, with some small details. You should try to create a full sheet of design ideas (the more the better!), of different sizes, shapes / forms, that are very different from each other. Ideally you will use a range of 2D and 3D sketches in blue pencil; alongside some of the ideas sketched in fineline pen; perhaps you could sketch a couple in ball point pen; you could even add a little marker to some; you could quickly add some basic annotation to help explain your idea.
