Onshape settings
Before you start to use Onshape for the first time, please make sure that the following preferences are set up. This will save a lot of time later on when using Onshape and Exporting from Onshape.

There are 3 things to check once you have set up your Onshape account.

Click on your name in the top right hand side of the screen. Click 'My account'.

Click on 'Preferences'. Ensure that the 'Length default unit' is 'Millimeter'. Scroll down and 'Save Changes'.

Click on 'Integrations'.
Click on 'Google Drive'.
Follow the instructions to enter your school email and password.
When exporting in the future, you will be able to choose your Google Drive instead of Downloads and keep all of your exports safe and organised.
subscription status

If you are new to Onshape or have not used it for a long time, your 'subscription status' might not be correct.
Look down to the bottom left of the Onshape window.
If your subscription says it is 'Student', you are all set to start using Onshape.
If your subscription says 'Free', it needs to be updated.
To update your subscription, do the following.
Type in 'Onshape education' into your browser and click on 'Onshape Education'.
Click on 'Create a student account' in the top right of the window and then you should see the image below. Fill in your details and email address carefully to update your subscription.
You are now all set to use Onshape. Well done.
