Thank you to our school community for your support and understanding regarding the disruption to the school day due to industrial action this morning.
We appreciate the flexibility shown by families during this time and will continue to keep the community updated should there be any further disruptions moving forward.
A reminder to please take a little extra time during pick-up and drop-off to park safely and appropriately around the school.
We are currently noticing a number of families parking illegally and remaining parked with engines running while waiting for students to come out. These practices create safety concerns for students, families, and staff, particularly during our busiest times of the day.
As we often say, if you are able to walk, ride, or scooter to school, this is always the best option. Research consistently shows that active transport supports student wellbeing, readiness for learning, and overall engagement at school.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.
Congratulations to all of our students who proudly represented Evatt Primary School at the Regional Cross Country Carnival yesterday. Everyone gave it their absolute best, and we are very proud of their effort, sportsmanship, and determination.
Thank you to the many parents and carers who came along to support our students throughout the day, and a special thank you to Mr Frankcom for organising the event and supporting our team.
We now look forward to seeing which students progress through to the ACT Cross Country Carnival.
Next Friday, 29 May, our school Athletics Carnival will be held on our top oval here at Evatt Primary School.
We have had a team working hard behind the scenes preparing the oval for this exciting event, and we are looking forward to welcoming our community back onsite for the carnival.
Here is everything you need to know about the day:
Time:
9:15am - 2:00pm
Format:
The majority of the carnival will run using an inclusive rotation system. A detailed schedule will be shared via the parent portal next week.
800m Event (Selective Event Only):
The 800m race will be our only selective event. Students wishing to participate will need to place their name down with staff during the week.
What to Wear/Bring:
House colours
Running shoes
Hat
Packed lunch
Water bottle
Food:
Our wonderful P&C will be running a sausage sizzle for parents and spectators. Students will not be permitted to purchase food unless accompanied by an adult. Please do not send students to school with money for this purpose.
We would love as many families and carers as possible to come along, cheer on our students, and enjoy the day.
If you have some time available and would like to volunteer to assist on the day, please email info@evattps.act.edu.au.
We look forward to a fantastic day of athletics, participation, and fun!

The P&C is exploring the possibility of starting an After School Music Program at Evatt Primary School. We want to offer convenient, professional music lessons (like piano, guitar, and violin) on-site after the final bell. Before we "strike a chord," we need to know what you want! Please take 2 minutes to fill out our anonymous interest survey so we can tailor the program to our students' favourite instruments and your family's schedule.
Click here or follow the QR code to have your say. Survey closes: 22 May 2026.
Thank you for your support!
