We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 Readers Cup team, becoming the first team from an ACT public school since 2022 to win the ACT Readers Cup competition!
At this morning's assembly, our students were presented with their winners' medals and proudly presented the trophy to the school, where it will take pride of place for the next 12 months!
A huge thank you to Ms Deb Bultitude, who has led this wonderful extension and enrichment opportunity for our students throughout the year. Her dedication to fostering a love of reading and providing opportunities for our students to challenge themselves has been instrumental in this fantastic achievement.
Congratulations to our Readers Cup champions! What an outstanding achievement for our school community.
You can read more about the Readers Cup competition and our team's success in Ms Bultitude's write up below.
You may have seen or heard recent media coverage and public discussion regarding school budgets for 2027.
Please be assured that we are working closely with the Education Directorate and advocating strongly to ensure Evatt Primary School continues to have the staffing, resources and support needed to meet the needs of our students.
Our students' learning, wellbeing and safety remain our highest priorities, and we are doing everything we can to ensure these continue to be supported in 2027.
We will keep our school community informed as further information becomes available.
A huge thank you to our amazing P&C for organising and running such a fun Halloween Disco last night!
We had a fantastic turnout, with students looking incredible in their costumes and enjoying a great night of music, dancing and fun. It was also wonderful to see so many parents and carers getting into the spirit (dressing up) and showing off their dance moves up the back!
We hope everyone enjoys Halloween tomorrow night. Have fun, stay safe and take care while out trick or treating!
Thank you again to our wonderful P&C for another fantastic school community event!
A huge thank you to our incredible teachers and staff for everything you do each day for our students. Your care, dedication, and commitment make Evatt PS a wonderful place to learn and grow.
Thank you, Evatt community, for helping us celebrate World Teachers’ Day!
A reminder about the importance of having your child at school in time for morning lines each day. This is when we share important messages about the day and what’s coming up later in the week.
Straight after lines, students head into their classrooms and begin learning straight away with their teacher. Remember, if your child is just 15 minutes late each day, that adds up to more than 8 days of missed learning over the course of a year!
Our wonderful Evatt teachers will soon begin preparing class groupings for 2027. If you would like to share any information to be considered regarding your child’s class placement, please email your request to michael.hatswell@ed.act.edu.au
The League Stars program appeals to the true nature of kids, in all their messy, high energy, love of fun and play. Each week, your child will participate in specially designed games that get them smiling and sweating.
League Stars kids have loads of fun with their friends, old and new, but the program delivers so much more. Each week they'll unlock more of their unique strengths, building physical, cognitive, social and emotional skills that will help them take on challenges big and small, now and in the future.

Congratulations to our talented Readers Cup team, who were crowned ACT CBCA Readers Cup Champions this year! The competition challenges students to read a range of books, work collaboratively, and compete in a book quiz against teams from schools across the ACT.
This was our school's third year competing in the competition, taking on teams from government, Catholic and independent schools from across the Territory. Our dedicated team of six students rose to the challenge, reading all five competition novels in just six weeks and meeting regularly to discuss and prepare for the event.
Their commitment was on full display when they stayed back late on Friday afternoon to compete at St Matthew's School, Page, where they impressed everyone with their teamwork, knowledge and enthusiasm for reading.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented the school. Their victory is a wonderful achievement and a testament to their love of reading, perseverance, and collaboration. Congratulations to our Readers Cup champions Jack.S, Elliot,L, Jasmine. V, Molly D, Amelia. H and Eden. P!
