Over the past few weeks, we have welcomed a number of school leaders and teachers to Evatt Primary School, providing them with the opportunity to observe our approach to teaching and learning. They have been particularly impressed by our engagement strategies and our commitment to meeting students at their point of need.
We are incredibly proud of the dedicated and talented teachers at Evatt Primary School, who consistently go above and beyond to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment for our students. Their passion and hard work make a real difference every day.
Our Groove and Grow program for children aged birth to 5 years runs every Wednesday from 9:00 AM in The Nest. Families can enjoy singing songs, listening to stories, and exploring our indoor early years playground—while adults enjoy a free barista-made coffee!
We’re excited to share that we’ve now extended The Nest hours! It will also be open every Friday from 9:00–11:00 AM for a casual play session, with fresh fruit and coffee available.
Families with little ones not yet attending Evatt Primary School are more than welcome to join. Help us spread the word—we’d love to see you there!
Last year, we were thrilled to host GAME ON on Thursday afternoons for five weeks, and we’re excited to announce that the program is returning in 2025!
This free program will take place on our Multi every Thursday afternoon from Weeks 6 to 10, starting Thursday, 13 March. It’s a fantastic opportunity for children and their parents/families to get active, have fun, and connect.
If you’d like to join in, please register below:
We can’t wait to see you there!

We welcome anyone with skills to contribute or those who just want to get involved and meet new people. Your participation is important! See you there! 🎉
The school will be transitioning out our use of Seesaw as a communication platform. We will in place be using the ACT Education Parent Portal as our main method of communicating with families. We ask all families if they haven’t done so yet to register for the parent portal, and download the dedicated App which makes use of the system far easier.
You can now access Parent Portal with the Sentral for Parents app. Download Sentral for Parents for free through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Parent Portal is a secure online platform used to share student information between you and your child’s teachers.
If you haven’t registered for Parent Portal yet, use this Parent Portal access link to log into or create your ACT Digital Account. To access Parent Portal, you will need your access key, you should have received this by email when we launched.

Dear parents and carers,
We recently launched Parent Portal, a secure online platform to share student information between you and your child’s teachers.
You’ll soon be able to access Parent Portal through the Sentral for Parents app. Keep an eye out for more information from us once the Sentral for Parents app is available for our school to use. Evatt Primary is expected to launch the app for use on September 2nd, 2024.
If you haven’t registered for Parent Portal yet, I encourage you to do so using this Parent Portal access link and log into or create your ACT Digital Account. To access Parent Portal, you will need your access key. You should have received these by email when we launched.
If you have any questions, or don’t have your access key, please contact the Front Office at info@evattps.act.edu.au or on 02 6142 1640.
Remember that using Parent Portal means you can:
notify us if your child is sick or explain an absence
book parent-teacher interviews
receive academic reports
receive our school newsletter
receive messages from your child’s teachers
make payments
access the school calendar and your child’s student timetable.

All Evatt students from P-6 are participating in the Chief Minister’s Reading Challenge. The students are challenged to read 30 books before September 12. They are adding books to their record sheet every week during their library lessons.
Books they read at home are also eligible to be counted. Students are encouraged to keep track of any books they read fully and add those titles to their records at their next library lesson. I have no doubt that the students will all complete this challenge and earn the right to choose the books that are added to the library as the reward.
Happy Reading everyone!
