EXECUTIVE NEWS
Michael Hatswell

Welcome Back

A big welcome back to term 4. We hope that our students and families managed some quality time together over the break. We have enjoyed hearing the stories from our students over the past few days about the holiday adventures and we look forward to a great term of learning ahead.

A reminder that The Nest is open from 8.30am every morning. We love seeing families spending quality time together and it's a nice opportunity for our parents and carers to have a coffee or hot drink to start the day. All welcome!

Referendum Day

A reminder that tomorrow is Referendum Day and we encourage as many parents and carers to come down to Evatt Primary School to vote. Make sure you support our P&C and make a purchase while you are here.

It is not too late to bring along some baked goods or put your name down to help tomorrow.

- Please drop off wrapped, on a plate, or in a container that is not required to be returned

- An ingredient list can be provided, but isn't mandatory

- If dropping off on Friday, please bring to the front office. Or you can bring straight to the stall on Saturday morning

- Please make sure the items are cooked and not purchased/bought in for sale in commercial packaging

We are still short some help! If you have a small amount of time, please add your name in the link below.

Students not returning in 2024

If your child or children are moving on from Evatt Primary School for 2024 could you please let the school know. This will help us with our planning for next year. Obviously students in year 6 are excluded from this.

Parent/Carer Requests 2024

Our wonderful Evatt teachers will soon start to prepare class groupings for 2024. If you would like to share something to be considered in relation to your child and their placement in a class, could you please send this to michael.hatswell@ed.act.edu.au

Congratulations Liam, Jayden and Will

Liam, Jayden and Will recently represented ACT at the National Schools Futsal Competition in Brisbane during the school holidays. They were selected for this team while playing for Evatt Primary School during the inter school futsal competition earlier this year.

Jayden also was identified through his performance from the week for an Aussie rep squad for U10s! Well done.

Hats On

Our whole school day is generally within the hours that sun protection is recommended for UV safety.

Please make sure your child has a sun safe hat with their name on their hat.

Contributions to the school and school community for 2023 by the P&C include:

What activities would you like the P&C run? What would you like the P&C to fund?

Upcoming events

Term 4

Volunteers needed!

The P&C needs your help! We appreciate that people are busy, but without help to run events, we won't be able to continue to run events for the kids. A lot of work goes into organising events and activities behind the scenes. Not everything is done during the day. We need help for the following:

Without the help of our community, we can’t run activities and events. If you can spare an hour or two, please contact the P&C at evattpspc@gmail.com.

Transport Canberra Announcement

Transport Canberra bus timetable changes commencing 9 October 2023

Transport Canberra has announced today that a new bus timetable will be implemented from Monday 9 October to align with the start of the school Term 4.

The timetable features more frequent weekday bus services, most of which will run at least every 30 minutes throughout the day.

A return to 30 minute daytime frequencies will ensure improved off-peak services can be provided between 9.30am and 3.30pm, while maintaining reliability. The increased frequency has resulted in changes to the first and last service times for some bus routes.

Some refinements have also been made to 14 school services based on school and community feedback, and to align with updated school bell times.

The new timetable does not include changes to weekend bus services and there are no changes to light rail frequency.
