A reminder that Early Birds is open from 8:30am each morning in the library. We love seeing families start the day together by sharing a book and a love of reading.
The Australian Education Union has notified the Education Directorate of protected industrial action affecting ACT public schools during Week 2.
Evatt Primary School will operate minimal supervision from 8:30am–9:30am on Tuesday 20 October.
Where possible, families are asked to keep children at home until 9:30am, with minimal supervision available for school-aged students who need to attend.
Preschool will be closed until 9:30am, with no onsite supervision available for preschool students before this time.
Before-school care will operate as normal and school bus services will continue to run to their usual timetable. Thank you to our families for your understanding and support.
Thank you to Heidi O’Brien and the P&C for organising the RMC Band to perform for our students on the last day of last term. We were blown away by their musicality, talent and expertise, and it was a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience live music performed at such a high level.
The students were thoroughly engaged and loved the performance. A huge thank you to the RMC Band for sharing their time and talents with the Evatt community and providing such a memorable way to finish the term.
Six of our senior students participated in the APSMO Maths Olympiad, a prestigious competition designed to extend high-achieving students through complex mathematical reasoning and problem-solving challenges. The program encourages students to think creatively, work independently and persevere when tackling difficult problems. [apsmo.edu.au]
Throughout the year, our Maths Olympiad students demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment. Meeting twice a week before school, they enthusiastically worked through challenging problem-solving activities and prepared for the four Olympiad competitions held across the year.
Their hard work, perseverance and enthusiasm were rewarded with outstanding results. All students represented our school exceptionally well and should be proud of their achievements.
Congratulations to Jack S., who achieved a result placing him in the top 10% of students in Australia.
A special congratulations also goes to Elliot L., who achieved a perfect score in the competition. This remarkable accomplishment was achieved by only 533 students out of 38,808 participants across Australia, placing Elliot in the top 1.37% of students nationwide.
We also congratulate Amelia H., Jasmine V., Adele B. and Eden P. for their dedication and perseverance throughout the year.
We are incredibly proud of all our Maths Olympiad students for their commitment to learning, their willingness to tackle challenging problems, and the positive attitude they brought to every session. Their achievements are a testament to the effort they have invested throughout the year. Well done to the entire team!
