Congratulations to Elliot L, Aimee K, and Tamara J on their selection for the 2026 ACT Instrumental Music Program Extension Ensembles! After successfully navigating the audition process, they have earned this opportunity and will no doubt represent our school with pride. Well done and all the best for the year ahead.
Michael will be on leave Friday 20 March - Wednesday 25 March. Kylie Moller, Deputy Principal Margaret Hendry Primary School, will be acting as Principal for this time. Please say hello and make her feel welcome if you see her around the school.
Following on from the portal message earlier this week, the Road Safety Team from the ACT Government has agreed to come onsite to review the current parking signage around the school. We will be sharing the complexities around the existing parking restrictions, which impact families most during drop-off and pick-up times. We will continue to advocate for an improved outcome, particularly along the stretch outside our library courtyard.
As always, student and family safety is our priority.
In the meantime, please be mindful of the parking signage and allow a few extra minutes during these busy periods.
A reminder also about parking on private property. Some neighbouring residents have reported difficulty accessing their driveways or having bin collections disrupted due to cars being parked in the way.
Thank you for your understanding as we continue to work through this.
We love seeing our students riding, scootering or walking to school. Research shows that active transport supports improved health, wellbeing and learning outcomes for students. Please remind your child to walk their bike or scooter when entering and leaving the school grounds, including along the footpath near the school. Students can begin riding again once they are past the school boundary.
Our Thursday afternoon Family Connect programs begin next week with Family Bike Club. We warmly invite all parents, carers and their children to join us from 3:15-4:00pm for a shared community bike ride on the bike tracks around Evatt Primary School.
Mr Frankcom will be leading the sessions, with a few special guests planned to join along the way.
We would love to see as many families as possible come along and be part of this fun opportunity to connect, be active and enjoy time together as a school community.
Building on the success of Groove and Grow (Wednesdays) and Stay and Play (Fridays), WCS is partnering with Family Connect to deliver a new Playgroup, commencing soon at our Preschool. Sessions will run each Tuesday from 9:30am-11:00am and will focus on supporting fine motor and gross motor development in a fun, engaging and supportive environment.
Children aged birth to 5 years and their parent or carer are warmly invited to attend. All families welcome.
