A big thank you to so many of our students and families for coming along to the P&C Disco on Wednesday night. It was a wonderful evening with a great community vibe. We have had a few tired students in and around school over the past few days however everyone has said that they had a great time.
Thank you to our P&C for coordinating a great event and thank you to so many of the Evatt Primary School staff for coming along for the evening.
If your child or children are moving on from Evatt Primary School for next year could you please let the school know by email to info@evattps.act.edu.au. This will help us with our planning for 2023. Students graduating to year 7 are excluded from this request.
We will share some information early next term about parent requests for class placements in 2023.
As you will be aware, next Thursday 22 September will be a public holiday.
Evatt Primary School will be closed on this day.
If you are planning an extra long weekend in which your child or children will also be absent on Friday could you please let the school know in advance. This can be done via email or via phone.
A reminder that The Nest is open from 8.30am every morning.
The Nest provides you and your children with the ideal way to start the day including some quality time, a book and a hot drink for adults.
Everyone is welcome.

MindUP for Life lessons focus on building life skills and mental fitness to support building happier, healthier, and more balanced lives at home, school, and work. Some of the things you may like to try at home include:
Happy Day: Start and end your day with an affirmation of having a happy day. Find three things that went well or made you laugh. Notice how many times you laughed. Laughter is important! 😊
Gratitude at Bedtime: It is fun to share what you are grateful for with your children. Take some time before bed to think and share three things you are grateful for.
Kindness to the Planet: Share with your child what you can do as a family to be mindful and kind to our planet. For example, we can be mindful of our use of plastic.
You can find more great ideas by following MindUP on Facebook or Instagram.

This week we enjoyed the school disco for our junior and senior students. It was a great night and we thank the school community for their support in running a great event for the kids!
If you have ideas on how you would like us to invest money raised throughout the year back into the school to benefit the kids, please don’t hesitate to share your ideas – evattpspc@gmail.com.
The canteen is open Thursdays and Fridays at B1. Online orders close 8am the morning of the order. Counter sales at B1 will continue this term.
A new menu commenced at the start of the term. The menu was due for a refresh (including pricing) and was updated to better reflect the ACT Public School Food and Drink Policy, which requires the promotion of green menu items and adherence to the National Healthy School Canteens Guidelines.
The policies and guidelines require us to carefully consider which items we purchase (e.g. checking the salt content of chicken nuggets which means all brands aren’t the same). The new menu is not too different from the old one and pricing remains reflective of costs and is consistent with or cheaper than other schools. The P&C doesn’t seek to profit from the school canteen.
We encourage the kids to try the new food items and welcome feedback at evattpspc@gmail.com.
The Evatt Uniform shop now has some stock of the new-style uniform in most sizes on site. Old-style uniform shirts continue to be sold at a discounted price. Enquire for more info.
New style jumpers may be in stock- please check with the front office to confirm sizing availability. We are able to process card payments for both uniforms and hats through our SQUARE at reception.

We are currently on the look out for someone to fill the secretary position.
Please email to evattpspc@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the team or have any questions. The more people helping out, the lighter the load.
A reminder for particularly our families with children who are preschool age for 2023 to complete the online enrolment process to secure a spot at Evatt Preschool next year.
Our current pre-schoolers will be automatically enrolled into kindergarten for next year as long as they live in our local Priority Enrolment Area.
For more information on enrolments, you can contact Oliver in the front office on 6142 1640
