School Holidays:
ENJOY!
Week One:
SCHOOL RETURNS - Monday 17 July
Thank you to the many parents and carers who have taken the time to connect with their child's classroom teacher this week. These opportunities to discuss student progress and focus areas for next semester are extremely valuable. If you have not been able to make time with your child's teacher you can book in a time through the front office for later this term or early next term.
A reminder that student reports will be emailed to parents and carers next week. If parents are expecting duplicate copies and this doesn't happen please reach out to the front office so we can provide this.
Congratulations to Lachlan Scarth who represented Evatt at the Rostrum Finals on Wednesday evening at Neville Bonner Primary School.
Lachlan spoke strongly and did a fantastic job and can feel very proud of himself. Well done Lachie!

The students (and staff) are loving the fortnightly Mathemagician puzzles around the school. Congratulations to this week's winners who received a limited edition rubix cube.
A big thank you to Mika and Mario, our resident Mathemagicians who are providing the challenges and fun for everyone.
See below the puzzles from the past fortnight. Have a go at solving them and don't forget to ask your child for help if you need!
This will be the last newsletter for the term before the school holidays. We are excited for a great last week of term two next week, and then we will head into school holidays. Have a safe and enjoyable break. A reminder term three starts on Monday 17 July.

As you may be aware, there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases across ACT public schools in recent weeks.
To help stop the further spread of COVID-19 in our school, we are encouraging and implementing the following measures:
Students who are COVID-19 positive or displaying symptoms (including a runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever) should test and must not attend school while unwell.
Parents and carers must inform schools if their child is COVID-positive.
Keep up to date with vaccinations.
Families can access a free rapid antigen test (RAT) from the front office of their school. Nasal and saliva tests are available. Test when symptomatic or as a precaution.
Practise good hand and respiratory hygiene.
Distance where possible.
For the latest COVID-19 advice please visit the ACT’s COVID-19 website.

The Evatt P&C desperately need volunteers. If you can help with fundraising activities or helping with the special lunches, please let us know. You don’t need any particular skills. Roles include buying food and delivering it to the school serving food on lunch days and tiding up afterwards. We also need people for other fundraising activities such as Father’s Day stall, school discos, second-hand uniform stalls and much more.
Without the help of our community, these events cannot go ahead. So if you think you can spare an hour or two here in there, please reach out to the P&C as we are committed to supporting our kids as best we can. Thank you.
If you would like to volunteer or get more information on what is involved, please email Paula Parker at: ianparker21@hotmail.com
Please note the P&C bank details have changed. If you have old bank details saved, please delete them. If you need to transfer money to the P&C directly, please contact evattpspc@gmail.com.
This week’s resource comes from @The_Therapist_Parent who shares blogs on her website: https://www.thetherapistparent.com/blog and through her FB and Instagram page.
Some of her tips for families include how to support children to calm down, develop impulse control, manage separation anxiety, how to stop yelling when you’re feeling frustrated, and other positive parenting strategies.
See below for some examples:
Wishing you calm and positive moments 😊.
