We’d like to share a huge thank you to our Evatt Primary community for the wonderful support through the year that we have had. The manner in which our families have worked through the myriad of challenges we have faced has been amazing. A huge shout out to our parents and carers who shone brightly during lockdown and supported us through a revised way of schooling back onsite.
We wish all our families a safe holiday break and we are very excited about all of the great things ahead in 2022.
Over the past few weeks, many of our year 5 students have prepared videos outlining why they would be a great school leader of Evatt Primary for 2022. These videos have been shared with our students and staff across the school. Our students and staff have voted for their selections.
All of the candidates also had an interview with myself or Mr See to gain further insight into their leadership qualities and ideas for school improvement. Thank you to all the year 5 students who put a great deal of hard work into this process.
We are very excited to announce that our school leaders for 2022 are;
School Leaders
Georgia Bates
Hannah Gerstenberg
Deputy School Leaders
Charlotte Wheatley
Bryony Conlan

Well done to our Year 5/6 team - Samantha Warren, Aaron Foy and Bronwyn Wilson for sharing their insights into the digital technologies area of the Australian Curriculum. The workshop was held at Old Parliament House with 70 representatives from industry, education and government attending. Our teachers provided responses to questions from the audience resulting in a valuable conversation about the digital technologies curriculum and being cyber ready.
Evatt Primary School is currently in the process of working with our community partner, cyclabilities to explore the idea of establishing the Evatt All Abilities Bike Precinct through a potential joint grant funding application.
The project will transform a large relatively unused open area into a key recreation asset for the local community. The project will link the school to the community and provide a range of new biking facilities with the aim to create a fun, safe and inclusive venue for riders of all skill levels and all abilities to engage in bike riding.
The bike precinct design connects the Evatt school community hub through an ‘open the gates’ initiative with the local community providing inclusive, safe and structured avenues for skill progression, from beginners through to advanced riders. The precinct is designed and tailored to maximise inclusive recreational cycling opportunities and to boost physical and social participation across all levels of ability. Please note that paths or resources built within the school fence line would not be accessible during school hours.
Original concepts and ideas include:
Modular skills track within the school grounds. This is designed for all wheels including bikes, skateboards, scooters or even roller skates! (blue)
Dirt pump track outside of the school fence line (pink)
Adaptive skills trail outside of the school fence line (yellow)
Early skills path within the school fence line (green)

We would love to hear your feedback on this concept and ideas.

We would like to say a big thank you to one of our longest serving P&C members, Tracy Hitchins. Tracy has been heavily involved in P&C and the school community for 19 years, and as her youngest child graduates we sadly have to say goodbye.
Tracy coordinated the canteen, many fundraising activities including our fetes and other activities and has helped raise thousands of dollars for our school.
We also say goodbye to Louise Harry and Neill Taylor who have also been involved with the P&C over many years.
You all will be missed however we look forward to welcoming you as guests to our future events.
Our AGM will be held on Wednesday 23rd Feb at 6pm. We welcome new faces.
Enjoy the festive season, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all in 2022!
