EXECUTIVE NEWS
Michael Hatswell

Welcome Back!

A big welcome back to term 3. We hope that our students and families managed some quality time together over the break. We have enjoyed hearing the stories from our students over the past few days about the holiday adventures and we look forward to a great term of learning ahead.

The Nest is Reopening

We are very excited to welcome parents and carers back to ‘The Nest' from next Monday 25 July.

Please see the lovely message below from our Year 6 Ministers for Community and Communication, Ruby and Ava.

Athletics Carnival

We are very much looking forward to our Athletics Carnival next Friday 29 July. A reminder that this will be held at Charnwood District Playing Fields and parents and carers are very much encouraged to attend.

As always we will hope for good weather but a reminder to pack warm clothes for the day.

We will notify families via Seesaw should we need to postpone. A big thank you to Ben Sterland for his coordination of this event.

Hats on Week 3

A timely reminder that it's hats back on Monday of Week 3 (1 August). Even though it's still on the chilly side, we are fast approaching Spring and 1 August is when our UV period increases to a high level.

Please make sure your child has a sun safe hat with their name on it.

Evatt hats are available for purchase from the Front Office or through the P&C Uniform website at a cost of $10 each.

COVID Safety Plan

Last week you would have received a letter from the Education Directorate through Seesaw that outlines some potential changes that may occur throughout the term with the rise in COVID cases. As a school we are updating our COVID Safety Assurance Plan that at this stage looks very similar to last term.

We very much hope that things can remain business as usual however will inform the community as quickly as possible should anything change. As always, we greatly appreciate all your support through these challenging times.

Reminder - Pupil Free Days for Term 3

As shared at the end of last term, all ACT Public Schools will be having 2 x pupil free days in term 3. These will be Friday 5 August (week 3) and Friday 9 September (week 8). School Psychologist Corner

Parent Bulletin - Cheryl Edward

Welcome to Term 3. I hope most of you got to enjoy some quality family time during the school holidays and your children are settling back in to the school term. I’d like to share some resources you may like to investigate to add to your toolkit in the parenting journey.

As we roll out MindUP throughout the school this term, there are some mindfulness apps that can help support your children in managing their big emotions as well as apps to help adults manage stress:

There are times when extra support is needed that may involve ongoing psychological support for anxiety or mood disorders, self-esteem, stress related concerns, grief & adjustment, anger management & dysregulated emotion, sleep issues, and social skills. The universities offer low-cost evidence-based psychological services to the community. You can find out more about their services, group programs, and more on their websites:
