A big thank you to our wonderful Evatt Primary School community for your support of our ‘Welcome Community BBQ’ in Week 3. It was great to see so many families come along for a sausage, a play and a chat. Thank you to our parents and carers for making the time to connect with our teachers for the beginning of the year getting to know you interviews.
A reminder about some important expectations here at Evatt Primary School to help keep us safe during break times. These are;
‘Hats on’ when outside. All students are required to wear a hat when outside during the designated ‘hats on’ months. If students don't have a hat, they will be required to head to the library for play breaks. They will have the option to attend Active Play which is on our covered multi court out of the sun. Students are also encouraged to wear sunscreen which is available in their classrooms. If you need support in providing a hat for your child, please reach out to our front office team.
‘Safe Pass’ to be inside. During break times we want our students playing, socialising and having fun outside or in our designated play break areas. If a student needs to come into the school building, we ask them to speak to an adult on duty and obtain a ‘safe pass’.
We appreciate any parent/carer discussions with your child at home to reinforce these important safety measures.
As we have shared out on the Portal recently, we have some new universal programs starting next week.
Our Thursday afternoon Family Connect programs begin next week with Family Bike Club. We warmly invite all parents, carers and their children to join us from 3:15-4:00pm for a shared community bike ride on the bike tracks around Evatt Primary School.
Mr Frankcom will be leading the sessions, with a few special guests planned to join along the way.
We would love to see as many families as possible come along and be part of this fun opportunity to connect, be active and enjoy time together as a school community.
Building on the success of Groove and Grow (Wednesdays) and Stay and Play (Fridays), WCS is partnering with Family Connect to deliver a new Playgroup, commencing soon at our Preschool. Sessions will run each Tuesday from 9:30am-11:00am and will focus on supporting fine motor and gross motor development in a fun, engaging and supportive environment.
Children aged birth to 5 years and their parent or carer are warmly invited to attend. All families welcome.
Students should not arrive at school before 8:45am, as staff supervision begins at this time. If families need to drop students off earlier, before school care is available each morning through Woden Community Services.As a reminder, students and families are welcome to access Early Birds in the library from 8:30am.
