Jeremiah Slaczka (aka Miah) is a video game designer and one of the founders of the company, 5th Cell, in Bevellue Washington. In the past he ran a company called Epix, and they were working on an RPG called, Fate, but the company was shut down. After schooling for a few years, he and some friends made 5th Cell. At first they created mobile phone games because they were cheap, easy to release, and made money quickly. The company has moved on to make games for the DS.
When the DS came out, Miah "saw opportunity in the DS, as well as an idea for a quirky platformer where the player would get to draw their own characters." Their first game to be released, Drawn to Life, was a partially successful: it didn't sell too much, but was on of the most high-selling western DS titles. Lock's Quest, a game that has different styles of puzzles mixed into it. Miah then produced Scribblenauts, a writing puzzle game. Scribblenauts has earned the most renown so far. There's a supposed sequal for Drawn to Life, and Miah also hopes to release games with mature themes.
