Wednesday
I got a chance just to kind of just walk around the show floor.
Watched a bit of the substance booth for infantry ward and they showed off how they used substance painter and designer in whatever the latest call of duty was. I talk to a guy at a booth that was showing off this scanning fabric and making them into pbr materials. Pretty sure it just worked the same way Bitmap2materials kinda neato.
Thursday
I got the chance to goto the Ringling alumni meet up and we meet James from Concept Art house and we got him going about life after school, the kinda of struggle of an artist, and becoming the best at what you want to do. Talking to James was very cool and it was very uplifting. He was a illustration major way back. He was a founder of massive black, one of the founders of Lucas arts, and left it all to start his own concept art outsourcing studio.
Friday
On Friday we got the chance to go one a studio tour at concept art house. and getting a tour of the studio and talking to all the employees. James also went into that at all his time at Lucas art they never asked him what he wanted to make. he saided that at some point you have to make your choice, "do you want to be the best or do you want to make stuff"
I also saw the work flow the paragon team uses to go into substance painter then into ue4 pretty neato
