Monday:
Met Matt, a one man team indie Developer- hung out with him and caught up with him later with the rest of my friends and had drinks
Tuesday:
Went to an Amazon Twitch talk which focused on using twitch as a platform to generate popularity for your game. It also talked about attributes of games that stay popular on Twitch.--- Met Alex, a Disney Interactive game designer
Met David, a Lead UI artist at Bungie
Met John, a Game Designer at EA in Orlando
Wednesday:
Received a portfolio review from William Smith- Liked my generalist portfolio, gave a huge sale pitch of his company, told me to add a hard surface project.
Met a Tech Artist at BioWare. He was super nice and he gave me his email.
Went to LGBT IDGA Round Table
Received a portfolio Review from High Voltage Recruiter- Liked my generalist portfolio, prefered my environments. Had nothing substantial critique wise and told me to apply.
Thursday:
Received a portfolio review from Steve Beran- showed my environments. Said I needed more consistent lighting, make a hard surface environment, and advised I try to light my forest shot with the skulls being the only/majority light source.
Played a cute indie game and won an early access key!~
Went to Blacks in Game Round Table- made a bunch of friends and went with them to the Razer mixer and tried their VR demo (and got some great swag).
Ran down the Lead Artist and Animation and his friend for BioWare, made a fool of myself, but got his card, and made an interesting impression.
Went to Muslims in Games talk
Friday:
Tried the Birdly VR demo
Received a portfolio Review from Waylon Winn- Liked my generalist portfolio. Told me to look at Scott Eaton for character art.
Received a Portfolio Review from Gavin Goulden- Showed only my characters. Said it wasn’t necessary to show the animation part from the trailer, and to do a piece with more normal human proportions.
Played a cute indie game and won an early access key!~
