Marcus Lehto was one of the first artists for the Halo series. Said to have been at the company since it was a RTS, Marcus did major work for the large and highly regarded series in the and art development of the series. He is credited with designing Master Chief, Captain Keyes, and the scorpion tank. Most of his bio is unknown except that he has a family, wife, and children. Bio on the Bungie website reads Classified for just about every option. Mysterious man indeed.

Halo: Combat Evolved: November 15, 2001
As the Art Director for the first Halo, Lehto designed most of the important characters for the halo universe. At the bottom of Master chief's boot is his initials. On the top of the Scorpion Tank is labeled some numbers that are his birthday.
Halo 2: November 9, 2004
As sequel to the first, the story was expanded from just playing Master Chief to an Alien called the Arbiter. Through the game you learn that two sides of alien and human are all fighting for the same goal. New mechanics were implemented like dual wielding and hijacking vehicles from enemies. Marcus Lehto redesigned Master Chief's as well as the Arbiter's armor.
Halo 3: September 5, 2001
I the Halo 3 beta the face behind the mask of all the master Chiefs were copies of Marcus Lehto's face. As the last Halo to have master chief as the main character Marcus worked on a lot of the Art direction and specifics behind the game. He mainly worked on Multiplayer art direction. During the Halo 3 beta all the faces under Master chief's helmet were copies of Lehto's face.
Halo Reach: Still in Production
Marcus Lehto is the creative director for the up and coming Halo Reach. Halo Reach is said to be the last game of the halo series by Bungie Studios.
