The game frogger was first created in 1981. The main character of the game is a frog, and the objective is to get the frog safely across a busy road, and a fast moving river with logs and sinking turtles. The game is viewed from above, looking down. If the frog is run over, or jumps into the water, you lose a life. If you eat a bug in the final safety zone, you get bonus points. The game gets increasingly difficult as you get more and more levels, with the cars speeding up and increasing in number, and dangerous animals waiting in the water to swallow you.

Frogger is a 1-2 player game where the frog must get into one of the five safety zones at the top of the screen. The game is viewed from above, looking down at the busy highway and fast moving river.
Frogger has no weapons. Throughout the game, you get more ways to get bonus points. There are many ways to lose a life, including being eaten by various creatures, getting run over, drifting off the side of the screen, drowning, running out of time, and hopping into a home that already has a frog in it.
Controls
The controls of the game simply consisted of up, down, left, and right.
Frogger is a simple green little frog that wants to get home.
Visual
Frogger is a 2-D game. The art elements are mostly functional, most of the designs serving as the frogs obstacles, and the different sections that he's in. If the frog dies a skull and cross bones will appear where he was killed before disappearing. The game uses raster graphics.
Frogger will make a beeping noise every time he jumps or gets killed. The opening song of frogger is the first verse of a Japanese song called The Dog Policeman.
