Samorost is an artistic point and click puzzle game by Amanita Design (The people who brought you Machinarium)
The story starts as the main character realizes that there is a spaceship about to crash land into his planet. The goal of the game is to travel to this strange ship and stop it.
This game has a unique and interesting style. The simple story is complimented well by the odd puzzles and animation sequences that make up the game. It is essentially a simple point and click game but manages to keep the players interest by just being plain weird. As with most puzzle games there is a great feeling of accomplishment when you figure out each puzzle, that feeling of accomplishment part is the real driving force of the game.
It is a fairly short game but fun. Because of the nature of the point and click puzzles it doesn't have much replay value, once you figure it out that's about it. Playing it again seems routine and not as much fun as when you are trying to figure out the bizarre puzzles.
All in all, I'd give this game a good rating, its fun, challenging and artistically interesting. I'm excited to see what Amanita design will bring out next.
