Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is the organizing principle for meeting development goals and utilization of available natural resources so that they do not deplate with time.  The desirable end result is a state of society where living conditions and resource use continue to meet human needs without undermining the integrity and stability of the natural systems. Modern concept of sustainable development is derived  from the 1987 Brundtland Report.  With time, it has shifted to focus more on economic development, social development and environmental protection for future generations.
