Human security agenda

The concept of the human security agenda prevails in the security and safety of human life from armed conflict and intervention by responsive states/nations even if armed conflict is internal matter of a country. The main objectives of human security agenda are stopping of human sufferings, alleviation of the effects of armed violence on populations and rebuilding of the structures of governance once the conflict is over. The major task is to convince other states to accept and practise human security agenda. Human security is not simply some humanitarian programme but it needs to address the root causes of insecurity and to help ensure future safety of people. Human security agenda may bring in far-reaching changes in the economic and political structures and institutions of a state. It entails building new state capacities. In real terms, it could mean reorganising the financial, administrative, and political capacity of the state with outside help and guidance. This may be true more of such states that have lost their capacities due to civil wars, political repression and financial crises, or 'failed' states where government’s capacity and machinery may have just collapsed.
