Course Description
This Year 10 Design course is tailored to develop curious, creative and innovative minds in a world that increasingly requires pioneering thinkers. It is about encouraging inventive learners to engage in the design process and persuade their audience to consider new ideas and perspectives. The students will use industry standard software Adobe suite (ie: Photoshop), alongside a structured course that will allow them to realise, explore and develop their original ideas. The students will have access to an array of relevant equipment and media to support them on their design journey.
Topics covered: Logo design - branding / visual identity - Research - Analysis - Promotion
Developing Skills In: Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Creativity and digital proficiency.
Assessment
Individual internally assessed SOLO rubric. Students are assessed on the combination of thinking, willingness to try new things and finished design outcomes. Evidence for assessment is varied and includes finished design projects, digital and physical workbook pages, documentation of process and development of a design, including reflection plus design literacy.

Course contributions
Students are asked to contribute $30 towards the cost of a design pack, a memory stick & use of the Adobe suite which assists with learning in class & on students' own laptops. At the end of the rotation, students are free to keep the supplies.
