Course Description
This is an excellent course for students considering training and working in the Hospitality Industry - part or full time. Students often have hospitality jobs to supplement their personal income- particularly while studying at tertiary education.. This course has a practical focus and is aimed at enabling students with a genuine interest in working in a kitchen or front of house to gain industry qualifications. Some catering experience will also occur. Level 2 Hospitality is not essential before starting this course.
Topics covered: Food Safety • Barista and Coffee preparation and service if required • Food Preparation • Front of House and service course designed to suit individual class and student needs • Culinary Terms • Nutrition
Recommendation for subject entry
None but the numbers are limited due to the practical nature of the course.
Assessment
This course is all unit standards with theory. All assessments are internal, both theory and practical tasks and are monitored by Service IQ.
Course contributions
Parents are asked to contribute a fee towards the cost of food eaten in class.
