Course Description
This course is designed for students who have an interest in a pathway within the recreation, community sports, or fitness sectors including coaching, managing, refereeing, playing, organising, training, activating, guiding, and empowering others through physical activity and sport. As such, learning focuses on all aspects of sport (an holistic approach to sport). There is a strong focus on students being connected and involved in facilitating/giving back to physical activity and sport organisations within our community. This means it is expected that students in this course will be role models for others (especially junior students, and those from Stream's feeder schools).
Timetabled class time will be split between practical and theoretical learning tasks.

Safety management strategies outdoor activities
Application of quality performance
Contemporary leadership principles
Devise strategies for physical activity outcome
Life-long activity and wellbeing strategies.
Prerequisites
7+ credits attained in PED200
OR
Special discretion by the HOD who will holistically consider the student's attendance, academic attainment to date and relevance to pathways.
Assessment
Assessments will be a range of practical work, and theory work, where students will be given the opportunity to submit work for assessment utilising a range of modes including practical demonstrations, video explanations, audiovisual presentations and written reports.
A course endorsement will be available to students who attain Merit or Excellence grades for 14 or more credits.
