Year 10 Music

Course Description 

This introductory course is aimed at students who have little to no musical experience and want to gain skills on a variety of musical instruments. This course also develops their musical literacy skills. Students are also encouraged to take private instrumental tuition through our instrumental music programme to complement the classroom programme. Tuition is available on a variety of instruments including woodwind and brass instruments. Instruments can be hired for some instruments from the school for these lessons.

Topics covered: Solo and group performance • Aural and theoretical skills • Composition 

Prerequisite

No previous music experience. This course is designed for absolute beginners.

Assessment

Students are assessed on the above topics. Evidence for assessment is varied and includes performance, recorded music, workbook pages, documentation of process and development and self-reflection. Internally assessed.
